From Classic Novels to Movies

Classic novels have been inevitable and everlasting parts of human life. People always appreciate the stories as the stories are told to their children, taught in the schools, and even adapted into famous movies. Even though some novels are freely adapted, the essences of stories are not vanished. You still can understand and learn from the stories. Here are some noteworthy novels that have been adapted into movies.
 
Great Expectations is one of Charles Dickens’ masterpieces. It is about a young man named Pip who has grown up with his great expectations. Previously, Pip is only a young orphan who lives with his brother and sister in law. His life changes as he is helped by an unknown benefactor. He is then raised as a gentleman with great expectations. Pip’s story has been adapted into movies in 1946, 1998, and the newest version in 2012. Jeremy Irvine acts as Pip in Great Expectation (2012) along with senior actor and actress: Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham Carter.charles dickens


 
Fitzgerald’s Great Gatsby is also adapted into movies in 1926, 1949, 1959, 1974, 2000, 2012, 2013, and 2014. Jay Gatsby’s story about obsessing his lost love is well-played by several famous and talented actors including: Warner Baxter, Alan Ladd, Kirk Douglas, Robert Redford, Toby Stephens, Andrew Scott, Leonardo DiCaprio and Gregg Sulkin. Gatsby appears as a wealthy gentleman that often helds parties. Actually he is very lonely as he loses the love of his life, Daisy Fay Buchanan. Gatsby is regarded as the symbol of great wealth.
 
The Three Musketeers is a French famous story about love and loyalty for friends, lovers, and country. Alexandre Dumas create the musketeers; Athos, Porthos, Aramis and D’Artagnan who are very skillful in swordmanship and have a great willingness and responsibility to fight for their loved ones; friends, country and lovers. The Three Musketeers has been adapted into movies in 1973, 1993 and 2011. A young and talented actor, Logan Lerman, plays as D’Artagnan in the latest version.
 
Jane Austen’s story about a woman who looks for love of her life, Pride and Prejudice, has been a well-appreciated novel. It becomes a must-read novel for students in the schools or even in university. That’s why Pride and Prejudice is adapted into movies in 1940, a comedy adaptation in 2007, an East meets West adaptation Bride and Prejudice in 2004, and 2005. Elizabeth Bennet is played perfectly by Keira Knightley.

Classic novels are adapted into movies recently. The good actors and actress play the characters perfectly that makes the essence of story as magnifying.

Grammy award is a prestigious music award that is annually-held by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the US. It is a music award which is dedicated for musicians, singers, and songwriters. Established in 1958, Grammy Award is previously known as Gramophone Awards. The categories include Record of the Year, Best Rock Song, Best Gospel Sing, Best Country Song, Best Rap Song, and Best R&B Song.

Grammy Award for The Song of the Year is one of the most prestigious Grammy Awards. 1959 is the first period when The Song of the Year is firstly awarded for a song entitled Volare. This song is written by Franco Migliacci and Domenico Modugno. It is an Italian song that is performed by its songwriter, Domenico Modugno. It beats other wonderful songs like Catch a Falling Star performed by Perry Como, Fever by Peggy Lee, Theme to Gigi, and Witchcraft by Frank Sinatra.

The Beatles also wins Grammy Award for The Song of the Year in 1967 with their song “Michelle”. This song succeeds to beat some great competitors like “Born Free” by Andy Williams, “The Impossible Dream” by Richard Kiley, Frank Sinatra’s “Strangers in the Night” and Ray Coniff’s “Somewhere, My Love.” “Michelle” is The Beatles’ only song that wins Grammy Award for The Song of the Year. Some of The Beatles’ songs like “Yesterday”, “Hey Jude”, “A Hard Day’s Night”, and “Let It Be” are also nominated but they are not awarded.

Grammy Award for The Song of the year is awarded to various musicians from some different countries. Most of Grammy Awardees for The Song of the Year are American musician and songwriter. Let’s mention some of them: Jimmy Driftwood who writes “The Battle of New Orleans”, Jerry Herman with his “Hello, Dolly!” Carole King with his “You’ve Got a Friend” and the latest American Musicians who get this award are Nate Ruess, Jack Antonoff, Andrew Dost and Jeff Bhasker with their song “We Are Young” in 2013.

British musicians and songwriter get the second place right after the US. The British Grammy Awardee includes The Beatles, Sting, Seal, Amy Winehouse, Coldplay, Adele, Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran who wins the award this year. The other awardees come from New Zealand (Lorde), Ireland (U2), Canada (Celine Dion), and Italy (Domenico Modugno). Those are great and wonderful musicians that should be appreciated in a good manner for their notable and evergreen works; music.

Grammy Award is a prestigious and precious award for musician, songwriters, and singers. The Song of the year is one of the most prestigious categories.
