From Classic Novels to Movies

Classic novels have been inevitable and everlasting parts of human life. People always appreciate the stories as the stories are told to their children, taught in the schools, and even adapted into famous movies. Even though some novels are freely adapted, the essences of stories are not vanished. You still can understand and learn from the stories. Here are some noteworthy novels that have been adapted into movies.
 
Great Expectations is one of Charles Dickens’ masterpieces. It is about a young man named Pip who has grown up with his great expectations. Previously, Pip is only a young orphan who lives with his brother and sister in law. His life changes as he is helped by an unknown benefactor. He is then raised as a gentleman with great expectations. Pip’s story has been adapted into movies in 1946, 1998, and the newest version in 2012. Fitzgerald’s Great Gatsby is also adapted into movies in 1926, 1949, 1959, 1974, 2000, 2012, 2013, and 2014. Jay Gatsby’s story about obsessing his lost love is well-played by several famous and talented actors including: Warner Baxter, Alan Ladd, Kirk Douglas, Robert Redford, Toby Stephens, Andrew Scott, Leonardo DiCaprio and Gregg Sulkin. Gatsby appears as a wealthy gentleman that often helds parties. Actually he is very lonely as he loses the love of his life, Daisy Fay Buchanan. Gatsby is regarded as the symbol of great wealth.
 
The Three Musketeers is a French famous story about love and loyalty for friends, lovers, and country. Alexandre Dumas create the musketeers; Athos, Porthos, Aramis and D’Artagnan who are very skillful in swordmanship and have a great willingness and responsibility to fight for their loved ones; friends, country and lovers. The Three Musketeers has been adapted into movies in 1973, 1993 and 2011. A young and talented actor, Logan Lerman, plays as D’Artagnan in the latest version.
 
Jane Austen’s story about a woman who looks for love of her life, Pride and Prejudice, has been a well-appreciated novel. It becomes a must-read novel for students in the schools or even in university. That’s why Pride and Prejudice is adapted into movies in 1940, a comedy adaptation in 2007, an East meets West adaptation Bride and Prejudice in 2004, and 2005. Elizabeth Bennet is played perfectly by Keira Knightley.

Classic novels are adapted into movies recently. The good actors and actress play the characters perfectly that makes the essence of story as magnifying.
